Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a few things that will save you some trouble and keep you cozy in the months to come. The weather is beginning to heating up in Mechanicsville and the last thing you want is to find out is that you’re facing an AC repair. Going through this short checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more work on the system which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often forgotten as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and swap them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
  3. Set Up Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we enter the picture to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it operating at top efficiency. Spring is the perfect time to set up your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be addressed before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a little investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with all of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to make sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 301-363-4699.
